I have a great deal of experience editing works of fiction. For years now, I have been the chief editor at the fiction magazine Eastown Fiction.
I was an editor for the first publication of Eastern Michigan University’s magazine featuring student writing, Em-Journal. This is a magazine that I helped to create. It is the brainchild of Dr. Derek Mueller, and he and I worked together to get it online. I worked initially to do the design work, and we implemented the design through a content management system.
Since I was seventeen, I have almost always been in a writing group. My first group was with a number of my writing friends, and we helped steer each other through the awkward early writing years. It has been a great tool. I have always felt that I learned as much in my writing groups as I have in any classroom.
